Examples of Editing Cuts

This video consists of original footage shot by me that demonstrates a series of editing cuts. The cuts I chose for this project in order were the "J Cut", where the audio of my guitar starts on the previous scene before I start playing. The second technique is the "Montage", where I shot a series of videos at different speeds and angles of the process of making Ramen. Next, I practiced the "Insert Shot" cut, where I can be seen unboxing a record and placing it on the record player. The cut on action is right as I place the record on the player. Similar to the "J Cut", I also used the "L Cut", where the audio from the following clips starts before the actual clip does. For this, I filmed myself in the kitchen acting like I received a phone call. I then turn the corner to answer the phone call I received in the previous scene. Lastly, I demonstrated the "Insert Shot" technique where I highlighted myself leaving the door unlocked through a close-up shot that leads to a burglar breaking in while I'm gone.
